| JACK IRONS - Band Info Info on the people that make Pearl Jam. WIKIPEDIA says: Jack was a founding member and the original drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and attended Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, California alongside Anthony Kiedis, Michael "Flea" Balzary and Hillel Slovak. He can be heard playing drums on the band's third album "Uplift Mofo Party Plan", as well as their cover of "Fire", originally penned by Jimi Hendrix and first released on the Chili Peppers' "Abbey Road EP". When childhood friend and bandmate, Hillel Slovak died of a heroin overdose on June 25, 1988, Irons left Red Hot Chili Peppers as he and Slovak were best friends. Slovak's death was such a huge shock to Irons that he has been clinically depressed ever since. |

| Jack Irons was asked to join Pearl Jam when they were first forming and
still looking for a singer. Although he didn't join the band yet, he did
pass on a tape of their work to a singer named Eddie Vedder. Vedder soon
joined the band and they recorded their first album Ten. Although Irons
does not drum on that album he later joined the band and drummed on No Code
and Yield. He brought a different and unique drumming style to the band.
Jack has recently released his own album called "Attention Dimension" with Eddie Vedder singing vocals on Pink Floyd's "Shine on you Crazy Diamond". He left Pearl Jam mid-tour due to health problems. |
